"I think having a positive outlook on life helps a lot. I'm very active physically on a regular basis: running, hiking, biking, kayaking, snow shoeing, etc. Also, I'm very careful about my caloric intake: low in carbohydrates and processed foods and high in fruits, vegetables, legumes, and fish. Any bread or pasta is whole wheat only. There are no white rice or white potatoes in my diet. I am a professor and run a large program for music and audio technology, and I'm also a freelance producer and engineer. I have a stressful job but I feel strongly that my exercise routine keeps me at an even keel and provides me with a lot of energy. Plus, my wife and I are dedicated to a healthy lifestyle and this provides mutual support for each other."
