"I'm consistently asked "do you eat?" and I have to explain how you can eat and still be lean. But people don't want to hear that, which is why they would rather you told them you starve yourself to look thin. I'm not one to sugarcoat things, so I will say it like it is: there's nothing easy about my routine and choice of life! I don’t have an exceptionally fast metabolism or any genetic predisposition to be lean. I just believe that every decision you make counts. Over time, all the little sacrifices you make and good decisions you stick to will add up and make a noticeable difference.
To break it down: I eat three main meals a day and workout anywhere from 4-5 days a week. I don’t really keep count, as I go until everything is sore and hurts (good pain), and then I take a break for a day or two. At the gym, I mainly do weight training and supplement my workouts with SLT and barre classes around the city. My approach to eating was inspired by a nutritionist I saw a few times when I was 18. She opened my eyes and helped me realize why I would want to make healthier choices. From that basic bit of education on nutrition, I never looked at food the same and started treating my body better than ever. I have adopted a diet of high protein, alongside carefully selected carbohydrates. I'm a creature of habit and thus consistency and simplicity work for me."
