"I’m conscious of my appearance and I want to look healthy, but also project a high level of energy and positivity. I don’t really consider myself thin, but rather as someone fit for his age who has a zest for life. I’m stocky and not ectomorphic, so I’m never going to have that long and lean look. I’m active because that’s my nature, and I don’t eat junk food or binge, nor do I drink or smoke. However, I do really love to eat and cook because it marries me to the world around me.
Food, and what it represents, is super important to me. The process of cooking, the history of recipes, the geography of it all and bringing people together through food is fascinating to me. I love to go “market style,” shopping and visiting different purveyors to get the best foods available, and then cooking something really special for friends and family. I try not to eat processed foods, but I sure as hell like ice cream! Really, I’m a city guy who loves the urban life but who also does a lot of outdoor recreating. I’m an avid kayak fisherman, snowboarder, hiker, and I go to the gym about five times a week. I love to explore, whether it’s in the city or country. Basically, I just keep moving. I can’t sit still for more than 30 minutes at a time! Genetics play a big part in this too. No one in my family was ever static for long."
